Mini Me's only just mastered smiling, is barely cooing and she only recognises me as the buffet, yet Hubby and I have spent this week talking about her schooling future.
Why? Fantastic question. It's because if you want to send your child to a private school you need to enrol them five minutes after birth. Squeeze in a baptism in that time and your application looks better.
I have no problem with our public schooling system. It's just that I don't know where we'll be living when Mini Me goes to high school and there are catchment areas I prefer over others.
Also, who's to say what schools will be good in 12 years time. Whether Mini Me will be academic, musical, sporting or artistic. Whether she'll have friends going to other schools.
Where is that fortune teller again?
After number crunching, research and talking we've made some decisions. We're hedging those bets. We're scattering our seeds. We're taking a leap. We're filling in forms and hoping for the best.
