West End Deli from my pram's viewpoint

There's a lot written about West End Deli and its amazing food. So rather than look at it from my stomach's point of view, I thought I'd take a look from the pram's viewpoint.

Since being encumbered with this new accessory my thought process for every lunch and coffee date no longer starts with 'what new hipster place haven't I tried, whose food porn photos are all over Instagram', but now begins with 'is it pram friendly?'.

Ah the new hand bag that requires its own table place.

So it was with relief that I noticed two other prams and room for mine as I walked into this suburban cafe on a Friday for lunch.

The on trend decor seen at many of Perth's newest cafes (having been around for a while I guess this could be one of the pioneers of pictureless frames and chairs hanging on the walls) provided ample space to park a pram. The ambient noise level wasn't too loud either for sleeping bubs with sensitive ears and on this day the service was friendly and attentive.

My pram was happy.

Now my stomach had something to say as I perused the menu while waiting for my lovely blonde lunch dates.

All day breakfast options - tempting. Gnocchi - doubly tempting. But I opted for the steak and mushroom pie. Clearly there is no difference between blondes and brunettes because we all ordered same thing. We were not disappointed by this homey style flaky crust and meat-packed pie, coupled with a chunky tomato relish and fresh leafy salad.

With room for dessert we each ordered something different. The creme caramel came in a cute little jar and was silky smooth. The chocolate orange tart was rich and zesty. The gluten free chocolate, coconut berry cake was too wickedly tasty to be healthy.

My stomach was also happy.

With Mini Me putting on a good show and hardly fussing during our lunch, I was happy too.

If you're looking for a tasty lunch that's pram-friendly for your mother's group or that friend with a tank of an accessory, then West End Deli in West Perth should be on your hit list.
